Mental health therapy for anxiety using a mind-body approach. In-person in Beverly, MA and virtually across Massachusetts.

Sometimes it’s not just about what you know - it’s about what your body still holds

You may find yourself reacting strongly to certain situations, feeling triggered without fully understanding why, or stuck in patterns that don’t seem to change, no matter how much insight you have.

EMDR can help

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps people heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences. Instead of just talking about what happened, EMDR uses guided eye movements (or other gentle back-and-forth stimulation) to help your brain process memories in a healthier way.

Think of it like helping your brain “unstick” from past experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming in the present. Many people find that after EMDR, upsetting memories feel less intense, and they’re better able to move forward with a greater sense of calm and control.

What is EMDR?

EMDR therapy. In-person in Beverly, MA and virtually across Massachusetts.

Many people turn to EDMR when they notice:

✓ Feeling triggered in ways that don’t fully make sense
✓ Knowing something is “in the past,” but still reacting as if it’s present
✓ Getting stuck in the same emotional or relational patterns
✓ Strong physical responses—tightness, anxiety, shutdown
✓ Negative beliefs like “I’m not safe,” “I’m not enough,” or “I can’t trust”
✓ Feeling like talk therapy hasn’t fully resolved things

Is EMDR right for me?

How does it work?

Rather than only talking about what happened, EMDR works with both the mind and body. Through guided bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements), the brain is able to reprocess memories so they feel less overwhelming and more like something that happened in the past, not something you are still living through.

Over time, many people notice they feel less triggered, more grounded, and more able to respond to the present with clarity and choice.
