Hello, I’m Tina

mental health therapist, therapy, counseling, adults, couples, anxiety, depression, helpers, life transitions, Beverly, MA, virtual, in-person, Tina Swinkels

I’m originally from the Netherlands and grew up living and traveling around the world. That international upbringing shaped how I see people and connection. I first came to the U.S. as a high school exchange student at 17, and in my early twenties I moved here permanently. Boston’s North Shore has now been home for more than two decades - it’s where I’ve raised my four teenage boys and built a community I love.

Before becoming a therapist, I studied photography. I still take a photo every day as a reminder to slow down and really notice the world around me. When I’m not working I enjoy traveling, horseback riding, reading, and the occasional sci-fi or Marvel movie.

Family and close friendships are the most important to me. They’ve helped me through some of the hardest moments in recent years and continue to remind me how powerful connection can be.

My motto in life is “balance is key”. Every morning I set a positive intention and draw a heart on my bathroom mirror, a simple reminder that small daily actions can add up and have a big impact.
